We covered the most ticklish part of Italy today, driving along the coastal archway of the boot after leaving Sicily.
Neither Martin nor I have ever explored this part of Italy.
Leaving Sicily was hard.
Homer and Shakespeare, among many others, did a far better job describing this beautiful region in their literature, so all I’m gonna say is that I’m gonna miss this view soooo much.
We were on the road most of the day, but we celebrated Independence Day nevertheless! We all wore something with red, white, and blue on it, and we were pretty excited to find an American-style steakhouse in Cisternino. Think “Texas Roadhouse” but without the loud music and peanuts. It did have all the familiar appetizers and dishes, and decor.
They even had apple pie.
We are proud to be Americans, and hope we represent our country well!
