Little Alarm Clock

Setting my weekday alarm clock for anything later than 5:30 a.m. is absolutely an example of relentless optimism that I may, indeed, need to be roused from a deep and restful sleep. Ha! When the Cows Come Home

My cousin Holli and I abandoned our husbands took our kids (and Wynter!) down into Bavaria to get up close and personal with hundreds of cows this morning.

About 1,000 cows were escorted off the mountains and led thru the village of Immenstadt to their farms. The tradition goes back centuries all throughout Bavaria. It takes place every September/early October. Continue reading

First Grade

This handsome boy began the first grade today! Of course, he got a giant cone full of treats! It’s called a Schultüte, and is usually filled with candy and whatever school supplies can fit in there. I’ve seen REALLY huge ones that have ALL the school supplies in there. It’s normally just for first-graders, but we gave ’em to the girls, too, for their first day ever of German school.

And yeah, that’s a  poo keychain.
