Holiday Decorating

We’re celebrating a lot of firsts this year. First Christmas for Junior, first Christmas in the new house, and first real tree for our family!

Martin and I got the family room painted and set up just enough to decorate. We’ve still living out of boxes and suitcases, but at least we’ll be ready for Christmas.

Whew!

We have a Christmas tree! It’s twinkly, colorful, and full of memories.

Our new neighbors invited us to their annual “Glühwein party.” Once a year, just before Christmas, the neighbors meet in one of the driveways, and socialize while enjoying hot spiced wine, chocolate, and baked goods next to a bonfire. I took over a batch of my homemade chocolate chip cookies, and by the end of the evening, all of the neighbors were asking for the recipe. My German got better with each mug of Glühwein.

Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. I am a lucky girl to live next to such wonderful people!

The kids found the baby Santa outfit. Pretty sure the baby’s gonna be wearing it for the rest of the weekend. His big sister snapped this photo … just one of many, I assure you.
