This is a photo of Miss C and me training for the Air Force fitness test in 2004. I thought of it when I realized this evening that my waist measurement is back within Air Force standards for the first time in YEARS. Still got some work to do if I’m going to get back to those 2004 scores, but I’m getting there!
I’ve been asked how I’m finding ways to be healthier. I try to make time throughout my day. For example, weekends are now my only opportunity to run outside if the weather cooperates, and I like to do it in the mornings. So Friday nights, I take 10-15 minutes to get things ready. I was doing this nightly when I was running outside daily. Because a failure to plan is a plan to fail!
I boil eggs for my breakfast, set up the coffee machine, put out my shoes/outdoor gear (yes, a reflective belt!), update my playlist, charge the phone, AND I sleep in my running clothes: socks, sports bra/corset, tights, and top. I also decide on my route, and tell Martin or Claire so they know where I am since I avoid social contact going from bed to the door once I wake up. It’s too easy to get sucked into Saturday morning drama if I make eye contact with anyone. All of this … 10-15 minutes. Tops.
And to keep track of these tips, I’m tagging these tips with SoEasyJulieDoesIt. Ha, that should tell you something!
