The other night, Martin was pretty animated as he told us about the gear he purchased for his upcoming marathon hike around the Swabian Alps. He wasn’t aware that Junior was behind him, mimicking him.
Laughing. Raising his hands. Shaking his head. Jibbering.
Laughing some more, just like Martin.
Hannah and I were hysterical watching the two of them.
After going for so long without Junior engaging in our conversations or repeating our words, this seemingly small moment of a son teasing his Dad is really a big deal. He’s paying attention, he’s tracking the mood, and injecting himself into the conversation as he knows how.
And he’s definitely displaying a wicked sense of humor.
